William Morris was an English artist and designer who lived from 1834 to 1896. One of his many talents was drawing wallpaper designs. You’ll find 22 of his designs in this colouring book. They are shown as small reproductions on the inside front and back covers. When you colour in these designs, you might want to try to copy his colours, or you might decide to use your own. You’ll notice that for three of the designs, he used just one colour, or shades of one colour, plus white. Will those designs look better to you with lots of colour? See what you think! On the last page, try creating your own wallpaper design. Grid lines are printed to help you. Draw your pattern in a square or a group of squares, then copy it into other squares. Remember wallpaper designs have to repeat themselves in order to cover a big space. The simpler your pattern, the easier it will be!
